The location, the south entrance of Amersfoort asked a special solution in urban planning and architecture for this building. The architect George Popinceanu managed this very well. The design was a quest for simplicity. A building with a unique character, that has become an eye-catcher in harmony with the environment, supported by a green surrounding and the reflections in the water The architect choose for durable materials that soften the volume and brings te building in harmony with the environment. The white concrete shell acts as a framework for the wood and glass façade. The ambition was no trendy or fashionable building, but to realise a durable, lasting and timeless object with its own identity. Tight, but also cuddly and warm, where everyone walks by with pleasure, an enrichment for the atmosphere and architecture in Amersfoort!
